The curriculum is at par with the National Occupational Standards (NOS) developed by the respective Sector Skill Councils. This promotes national and global mobility of the learners, as well as higher acceptability by the industry for employment purposes. The CCs offer knowledge – skill mixed programmes of different durations depending on the need of the local industry leading to certification at various levels of the NVEQF / NSQF. The vocational component of these programmes conforms to the NVEQF / NSQF and the general education component conforms to the university norms. Skill component of the programmes/courses is employment oriented.
The CCs offer Programmes/Courses in domain areas which have significant demand in the job market locally. The CCs may also offer short-term certificate programmes of various durations to the learners which would serve the life-long learning needs of the community. Monitoring, evaluation and updating of the curriculum is being done periodically in consultation with the industry, keeping in view of their requirements and changes in National Occupational Standards, Skills Gap analysis of the NSDC, industry associations, Sector Skills Councils, and Government agencies.
Any person who has completed 18 years may apply for the courses. There will be no upper age bar for admission to the Community Colleges.
The minimum educational qualification for admission into CC is class 12 pass or equivalent from any recognized board or university. However, provision is made to enrol students who come up to this level following the NVEQF / NSQF Level-3 and Level-4.
Application forms and prospectus are available at the concerned Community College at a cost of Rs.50.Applicants should submit separate applications for each course. The filled up application forms should be submitted to the centre where admission is required.
The course fee is Rs. 500 per semester.
A scholarship of Rs. 1000 per month will be given to students who have satisfactory attendance in the month. Percentage of satisfactory attendance will be decided by the Board of Management of the Community College.
There will be counseling for the students and parents about Community College and its various courses. This will be conducted at the community college on or before the day of commencement of admission process. There will be provision for interaction with the Skill Knowledge Providers also. This will help the students to get a clear idea about the course and its various opportunities. A particular course will be conducted only if a minimum of 15 students are admitted to that course.

For preparing rank list, merit based decision which provides equal opportunity to all will be taken by the Community college. For calculating index mark, grade point/mark obtained in the qualifying examination will be considered. If the number of applicants is more than the allotted seats, an entrance examination/aptitude test may be conducted by the corresponding industry partner. But the Board of management has the right to decide on the conduct of entrance/aptitude test. If there is an entrance/aptitude test, the weightage for qualifying examination will be 60 and that for entrance/aptitude test will be 40
After the indexing, the provisional rank list will be published at the CC. Any corrections in the list should be intimated within three days after the publication of the provisional rank list. Complaints received after the stipulated time will not be entertained in any circumstances.
Final rank list will be published at the CC and the admission process will be started accordingly. The applicants should contact the CC for more information on the admission process.

Furnishing false information is a crime and will result in forfeiture of the candidature and cancellation of admission. Such applicants will not be allowed to apply to any of the community college programmes in future.
Appropriate mechanism for assessment of the learners’ progress towards acquisition of knowledge and skill has been developed by the Community Colleges. Practical or hands on skills will be given comparatively more weightage in the overall assessment plan. The CC follows the guidelines and recommendations of the respective Sector Skill Councils (SSCs) for the assessment and evaluation of the vocational component, wherever available.
There will be continuous internal evaluation and end semester external evaluation. Internal evaluation includes assignment, project/field work, viva voce, etc. External evaluation includes written examination of three hour duration and comprehensive skill test at the workplace. Marks obtained will be expressed in letter Grades. The grades obtained for both internal and external will be combined in appropriate proportion and a final grade will be calculated for a particular subject/paper. The semester grade point is expressed as Semester Grade Point Index (SGPI) and course grade point as Cumulative Grade Point Index (CGPI). SGPI and CGPI will be expressed in a 10 point scale, corrected up to two decimal places.

The general education acquired by the student will be assessed by the concerned Government College and the corresponding mark list will be prepared.
Vocational knowledge and skill acquired will be assessed by the concerned Skill Knowledge Provider and the corresponding skill certificate will be prepared.
The course certificates will be awarded by the certification body. Award of Certificate, Advanced Certificate, Diploma or Advanced Diploma, as the case may be, would depend on acquisition of requisite credits as prescribed by the certification body and not on the duration of the calendar time spent in pursuing the course. The certificate will mention the credits earned, course duration (in hours) and the curriculum covered. If the course is aligned with NVEQF / NSQF, the corresponding NVEQF / NSQF level will also be mentioned on the certificate.
